My husband looks at me \u201cI have\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I whip around and glare at him, waiting for him to give me yet another task when I have no time and everyone needs everything from me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He reacts to my attack stance. \u201cI need to tell you something!\u201d
Deep breath. \u201cI didn\u2019t say anything. I\u2019m listening.\u201d
I do not have time for this, I have already missed the maybe-window to run out and get milk, which he seems to be TOTALLY unaware of and the disaster that is looming.
He looks at me \u201cI\u2019m trying to tell you.\u201d
Yet MORE time has gone by while he kills time telling me that he\u2019s about to tell me something.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTell me!\u201d
He tilts his head and takes my hand. \u201cI should show you.\u201d
Deeper breath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is my husband. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He is not attacking me.
He leads me to my desk. \u201cI heard you when you were complaining about the bugs flying in. I have a plug-in bug killer that should help.
I looked up at him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And threw my arms around him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is why I do those work projects. It\u2019s why I get the milk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We are taking care of each other. And it can be a fight every day. Some days more than others.
This house is strong. It has stood and will stand through many storms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I don\u2019t have to bring any under my own roof.
Now he can smile at me. It\u2019s safe again<\/p>\n\n\n\n
