D.<br \/>\nThe Catcher in the Rye (a favorite of serial killers\u2026but why?)<\/p>\n<p>by Shelley, Mary.<br \/>\nFrankenstein (the original is way good, and way less scary than I would have thought)<\/p>\n<p>by Sophocles.<br \/>\nOedipus the King,<br \/>\nAntigone(ancient greek plays that could kick shakespeare\u2019s Butt)<\/p>\n<p>by Steinbeck, John.<br \/>\nThe Grapes of Wrath,<br \/>\nEast of Eden,<br \/>\nCannery Row<\/p>\n<p>by Swift, Jonathan.<br \/>\nGulliver&#8217;s Travels<\/p>\n<p>by Thurber, James.<br \/>\nThe Thurber Carnival (this guy has the quirkiest sense of humor\u2026AWESOME!)<\/p>\n<p>by Wilde, Oscar.<br \/>\nThe Importance of Being Ernest (also, anything by this guy)<\/p>\n<p>A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by betty smith<\/p>\n<p>Johnny Tremain by Esther Hoskins Forbes<br \/>\nThe Witch of Blackbird Pond  by  Elizabeth George Speare<\/p>\n<p>Amy Tan (anything by her!)
